Sustainability

Company Initiatives

A majority of companies are in the same boat; becoming more sustainable to work towards a better future. To do this, you also rely on your supply chain to join you on the initiative, as their improvements contribute to your goals.

Whilst ultimately our goal is to protect the future and do our bit, we’re proud to support customers and manufacturers who benefit from our sustainability contributions.

Eco Packaging Scheme

Implementing new eco packaging as part of our sustainability scheme not only contributes to our own targets, but also helps support customers who have their own goals to meet.

  • All plastic grip seal bags swapped for paper bags
  • Multi-item cartons segregated using cardboard sleeve where 3 party products are still use plastic
  • Shrink wrap used to secure and protect reeled drums of fibre will be replaced by corrugated card wrap
  • Shrink wrap swapped to an eco-friendly alternative made from 30% recycled materials
  • All standard sized and shaped pallets shipped with 30% recycled shrink wrap surrounding it

Sustainability Projects

As part of our current efforts to hit our sustainability goals, we are proud to work on some stand-out projects.

Find out more about some projects we have been a part of:

We are part of the UK’s first sustainable sporting venue, facilitating the project and delivering their vision without having a negative effect on the implementation of the data and the electrical requirements.

We also worked on a customer order, returning a batch of cable drums back to our warehouse for them to be returned to the manufacturer.
Upon return, the drums get used for another customer order, therefore contributing to a circular economy!

Our Scotland team assisted in the supply chain for Glasgow’s first Net Zero office building, by providing top quality Leviton products to meet specification needs and delivering them reliably to allow the project to run on time. A big aspect of the project was that the supply chain was 66 miles in total, with our trade counter being situated in Glasgow and Leviton being based in Glenrothes. With such a short distance to travel, the products supplied by us are a much more sustainable option compared to alternative suppliers.

Working With Suppliers

We are proud to work closely with suppliers who advocate for sustainability and do their bit for the environment.

Since 2008, we have worked closely with Panduit who have been spending time developing their packaging to lessen the environmental impact from wasted packaging. As well as this, they make a conscious effort to regularly review their waste by doing data analysis with distributors and use the findings to set goals to reduce wastage further.

Leviton have been carbon neutral for over a decade and as part of their CN 2023 Programme they are continuously working on sustainability, working on aspects like their recyclable packaging. We are proud to be one of their partners, enabling us to be able to provide customers with a solution that is sustainable as well as top quality.

Our Telecoms division is partnered with Dura-Line, the pioneer in MicroTechnology and the first manufacturer of fibre optic subducts. As part of their sub-ducting range, Dura-Line supply an eco-duct which is made out of recycled materials. The same top quality, sturdy ducting just with an additional environmental benefit!
