Aisle Containment
Aisle Containment is used to optimise cooling and energy efficiency in data centres by separating hot and cold airflows. Legrand offers flexible, custom solutions that can adapt to the needs of constantly changing data centres.
Key features include:
- Modularity: extensive and cost-effective possibilities
- Flexibility: adaptable to each project
- Easy installation
- Energy efficiency
- Optimal integration: can be integrated with row-based cooling systems or traditional perimeter AHU’s with or without a raised access floor
Nexpand Cold Aisle Containment
Cold Aisle Containment can be achieved in two ways – using Rack Supported Containment, or Free-Standing Containment systems.
Both of these options deliver cold air into the aisle through a raised access floor, where it is contained in front of the cabinets to keep them at the optimum temperature. The cold air prevents hot spots and keeps the servers cool, while hot air is removed out of the back of the cabinets.

Rack Supported (Standard)
The rack supported version can be used with cabinets of any height, but structural filler panels are required for the shorter racks which are placed between the rack top and the underside of the roof structure.
If a rack needs to be removed, temporary support for the roof structure may be required making this a less flexible option than the free-standing containment systems.
Free Standing
The Nexpand free-standing options are self-supporting systems that carry their own sliding doors, roof systems, corridor walls and vertical panels, with cabinets being installed after. They accommodate a variety of sizes and brands, making them a suitable choice for growing data centres or multiphase projects, as they can be easily expanded.
They are more expensive than rack supported options initially, but they are a more popular option due to the added flexibility and customisation options.
