EXFO FTBx-88480 Series

The FTBx-88480 Series from EXFO is designed to validate next-generation Ethernet and optical transport networks in field and lab environments. It provides dual-port, multiservice testing capabilities across a range of data rates, from 1G to 400G, with the ability to upgrade to 800G through software licensing. 

The dual-port architecture, enables simultaneous validation of two circuits which reduces testing time and improves operational efficiency, especially in high-demand deployments. The platform supports a variety of Ethernet test applications,  along with traffic generation, monitoring, and smart loopback functions. 

The system features EXFO’s Open Transceiver System (OTS), a flexible design that accommodates a range of pluggable optics and emerging coherent technologies like 400ZR and OpenZR+. This ensures it is compatible with current interfaces while remaining prepared for future developments. Additionally, built-in 112G electrical lanes enable accurate testing of advanced 400G QSFP112 optics. 

it also has features such as forward error correction (FEC) validation, bit error rate (BER) analysis, and Fibre Channel testing, to provide insight into physical and higher network layers.  

The module is compact and portable, and integrates seamlessly with EXFO’s FTB-1 Pro platform, to allow technicians to transition smoothly between lab and field testing.
